DONATE TO AN ORGANIZATION
A great way to help service men and women. There are many charities focused on everything from veterans assistance to more targeted organizations focused solely on special forces soldiers.
FLY A FLAG THIS VETERANS DAY
Salute the flag. Veterans day is a great opportunity to fly the flag! Just make sure you're observing the proper rules for flag display.
ASK SOMEONE ABOUT THEIR SERVICE
Sometimes you don't have to say anything, Just listen and give your full attention. Ask questions that are easy to start a conversation. What did you do in the military? How long did you serve? What is your favorite moment in all your time in the service? Why did you choose to serve in your branch?
TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE SOMEONE ON ACTIVE DUTY
Write to a soldier you know or find a military installation and send one there. Thank all men and women for protecting our country. Even if you never interact with someone on active duty, small acts of recognition is greatly appreciated for some who is serving in the military.
STAR SPANGLED BANNER
O say, can you see by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? –
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming!
And the rocket’s red glare, the bomb’s bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say, does that star spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
